Mobile crane operator Target Cranes has achieved Level 3 broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) and value-added supplier status for the second successive year, confirming its ranking as South Africa’s leading empowered mobile crane services provider.
The company has been rated a Level 3 contributor by verification agency Sera. Target Cranes also qualifies as a value added service provider which, in combination with the Level 3 rating, enables customers to claim 137.5% of their spend with Target towards their own BEE scores.
Focus areas in maintaining Level 3 status have been broad-based black empowerment through Sphere Holdings, which has a 32.5% direct investment in the business, preferential procurement, employment equity, enterprise development and socio-economic development.
Says Target Cranes director, Matt Jack, “Cognizant of the environment we live and work in, we are committed to broad-based black economic empowerment as a means of achieving sustainable, meaningful growth that will be of benefit to all our stakeholders and advance the transformation of a democratic South Africa.”
Further cementing its credentials with its customer base, Target recently became one of the first major crane companies in South Africa to achieve ISO 9001:2008 quality and OHSAS 18001:2007 health and safety management accreditation.
