TERMS OF SERVICE

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure clear unrestricted access for all equipment required for the supply of our services. Accordingly, should any delays occur as a result of access being obstructed for any reason whatsoever, the normal hourly rate will be charged. Ground conditions (or any supporting material) are the responsibility of the client (ground should be able to support the loadings generated by the crane).

Crane size:

The crane type and dimensions allocated for the supply of the services has been determined by the information supplied by you regarding weights to be lifted, working radius and height to be lifted. Should this information not be as supplied at the time of the lift/s, any additional equipment required and all cost/s for the reconfiguring of the existing crane/s or replacement crane/s will be for your account.

Load testing, induction and medicals:

The rates quoted specifically exclude any tests, inductions and medicals, which may be required prior to the crane being established on site. Any such time and test will be charged at rates ruling at the time of such requirements.

Minimum hours:

A 6 hour minimum will be charged for services requiring the use of cranes up to and including 50 ton capacity. The supply thereof for periods in excess of one day will be charged at 9 hour minimum per day between the hours of 07h00 and 16h30. Services requiring the use of cranes over 50 ton capacity will be charged out at a 10 hour minimum day from 07h00 to 17h30 at all times. All the aforegoing allows for 30 minute lunch break per day.

Site supervision:

You are required to provide suitable qualified supervision to assist in directing our operators in the movement and lifting services to carry out all necessary slinging of goods that are required to be lifted.

Price bases:

The above prices are:-

a) fixed for a period up to 30 days;
b) inclusive of competent operators, full mainatenance, oils and greases;
c) strictly nett;
d) exclusive of VAT which will be reflected on each invoice as a separate item;
e) exclusive of the following which will be for your supply and account:-
(i) rigging crew and equipments;
(ii) accommodation and messing for operators and assistants;
(iii) diesel fuel required for the supply of the services;
(iv) road permits to and from site;
(v) insurance cover for the cranes and other equipment required for the supply of the services;
(vi) standing time on trucks/lowbeds for which Target is not responsible.

Insurance:

It is recorded that the cranes are insured during transit but not for the period for which the services are supplied.

All equipment must be covered against all risks to which they may be subjected and/or exposed to in terms of appropriate insurance cover for a minimum value of R60 000 000,00 (Sixty Million Rand).

In the event that you wish to procure your own cover as defined above, a copy of the relevant insurance schedule and agreement must be furnished to Target for approval and confirmation prior to the commencement of service supply. Should the aforementioned documentation not be forthcoming, Target is able to offer waiver cover at the rate of 20% (30% in the case of “Tandem or Tailing” operations) of the supply rates quoted, with a minimum excess of R325 000,00 per crane which will be for your account. The loads lifted (“on hook”) or moved are not covered by Target’s insurance and must be arranged by yourselves at your cost.
